Backspin is Your Friend

As you know, backspin makes the ball rise into the air and backspin makes the ball stop on the green or even back up a little bit. But what you might not know, or never thought about before, was that backspin keeps the ball on line. For direction, the more backspin the better, it works like a gyroscope. The spin keeps it going dead straight. Sidespin however is your enemy. Hit that ball square with a descending blow and watch that ball fly perfectly straight. Now all you have to worry about is starting it off on the target line.
