Head Movement
I thought my head movement yesterday might have been a fluke so today, I warmed up with a bunch of sand wedges, then a few nine irons, then hit a few sweet 7 irons, then pushed record on the camera and took three swings; concentrating on keeping my head still. Got home and watched the video clip on my computer and realized it was the exact same swing as yesterday ? Look for yourself: 3 more swings with my 7 iron
Then I searched the net for videos of pro swings and realized that the head movement I make is totally normal! Look at this animated graphic of *the perfect swing* and put your mouse pointer on the shinny part of the guys fore head. His head moves quite a bit back and then in a J shape just like mine does. (Hit refresh if the GIF is not moving) ![]()
That said, in my swing, my shoulder kind of pushed my head up a little on the back swing which made me dip a little on my way back to impact but without those faults, the J shape and the head movement on the graphic is just like mine and very encouraging. I also looked at a ton of pro swings from this angle and it is true that your head is supposed to move like this: check out Your favorite pro's swing at this site. (You have to download some Quicktime Movie Player though to watch them). I downloaded Quicktime and it kind of took over my computer - icons on the desktop, bottom toolbar, the tray deal by the clock, and who knows where else, plus Quicktime became the default player for I guess every media type I wanted to play. For me it was worth the download just to see Fred Couples swing and not a big deal for me to uninstall it, but I would suggest unless you already have Quicktime - or are using a Mac, skip it.
I do not know who to credit for that wonderful graphic of the scary *perfect golf swing diaper robot* - if you know, please comment on this page and I will link back and credit them
