Seperator  Yesterday's picture was of the first hole sign at Riviera Country Club. Next to it is a plaque and here it is. This is what it says:

GEORGE C. THOMAS JR. Course Architect
officially opened The Riviera Country Club
with a drive from this tee on June 24, 1927.
The honorary first foursome was composed of
Willie Hunter, 1921 British Amateur Champion
Vic D'Alberto, Head Golf Professional, Los Angeles C.C.
Paul Hunter, 1926 SCGA Champion
George Von Elm, 1926 U.S. Amateur Champion
In the gallery were club founders
Frank Garbutt and William May Garland.
