For those of you that remember, back in the day, the Internet was just a bunch of people discussing stuff in green text on a black monitor. A year or two ago, Google somehow purchased the database of the entire archives of USENET from D?j? vu (or whoever) and made that data available - calling it Google Groups (that is what the Groups tab at google.com is for).

It is surprising how many people never left those bulletin boards and that those alt.whatever forums are still very active and popular. I checked out the golf one and read some interesting stuff from some pretty good golfers. You can still find a ton of golf talk at the golf group.

P.S. There are a couple active posters over there named Rich - but that is not me; I have yet to post anything at rec.sport.golf
