Third Hole

The 3rd hole at the Tierra Rejada (White Tees)

425 yard par 4

Perfect tee shot here is a straight ball over the top of that hill just left of the cartpath. Along that tree line to the left is a drop off in an environmentally sensitive area. Even if you see your ball you are supposed to leave it there, drop a new one at the point of entry with a one shot penalty. Not sure why it is environmentally sensitive - perhaps someone was bit by a rattle snake and the course is trying to lower liabilities. Or perhaps a deal they made with the city to get the permits to build the course. That is probably it - the side of that hill must be in view from the freeway.

Anyway, the fairway over this hill follows that treeline and is downhill all the way with a huge undulating green.

What I've shot on this hole:

7 ON 03-28-2005:

Tee shot: Driver
Fairway Shot: 4 Iron
Pitches: 1
Putts: 2
Notes: Driver slipped a little in my hand on the downswing and sliced the heck out of it OB. Next Drive was perfect.
