Tracking Some More Personal Golf Stats
I added 4 new stats to my scorecard pages.
The first one is pretty simple - it is just up and downs. At the moment it does not include greenside bunkers but I will probably add that later. It counts an up and down if I miss a green in regulation, and then either chip or pitch and one putt. Even if I hole out a chip (stop laughing) it will recognize it as an up and down. An up an down can only be for par. It won't count on a par 5 if my third shot is a pitch (have to miss the green in regulation) and bogeys don't count here. The second stat is called F**king the dog. You know every once in a while, we all do this, when you're just off the green and chip twice and then two putt, or chip once and then three putt - man I hate doing that. I decided to start tracking it and what better term than saying you f**ked the dog for a double bogey back there. I don't know what they call that at pgatour.com; not exactly a stat the pros worry about but one very relevant to my game. It will say I F'd the dog if it took me four to get down no matter what the combination of pitches, chips, or even one of my famous 4 putt disasters. Three putts was easy - it just totals them up. Greens in regulation is also standard. I put the GIR stuff on its own page in addition to the scorecard pages. It appears my GIR best is 14 on an easy course, but I have been as pathetic as 4 greens in reg in a round. I hope this will encourage me to try and hit more greens in regulation, not three putt as often and avoid F**in the dog in the future. If you have no idea what I am talking about go look at one of my scorecards (click on a date). Now that I look at it I could have just added the GIR info to the scorecards page there - oh well, I already built the GIR page so i'll let it cook - maybe I'll add some graph or something to it.
